Basilica of the Sagrada Familia

“My client is not in a hurry.” — Antonio Gaudí.

 

The tenth of June 2026 marks exactly one hundred years since Catalan Architect Antonio Gaudí’s death. By divine timing, his behemoth crown in the middle of Barcelona; The Basilica of the Sagrada Família, also enjoys its structural completion and the inauguration ceremony of its tallest and final tower, La Torre de Jesucristo.

 

To celebrate this series of anniversaries, images from the street dwellers point of view of the Sagrada Família were commissioned by Arup, the London-based structural engineering firm leading its construction. Their partnership with La Sagrada Familia Foundation have been instrumental to the buildings long-term structural safety, as well as rocket-fuel to the Basilica’s growth, by using modern techniques and materials – as practiced By Gaudi in the early days of the Sagrada’s inception.

 

Our prime focus was placing the building as a crown; our viewpoint from the ground looking to the heavens. As well as framing its linear form and technical details romantically, Showcasing the perpetually blossoming view the ‘Catalana’ have enjoyed for a century and a half – forgoing drone and crane technology, to view as Gaudí would have himself.
